Getting Started

Creating an Account

  1. Click "Sign Up" in the navigation bar
  2. Fill in your username, email, and password
  3. Complete the reCAPTCHA verification
  4. Check your email for account verification
  5. Start exploring and creating prompts!

First Steps

  • Complete your profile with a bio and avatar
  • Browse the Explore page to discover prompts
  • Follow interesting creators
  • Create your first prompt
  • Join the community by liking and commenting

Creating Prompts

The Prompt Editor

OpenPromptRegistry features a professional Monaco Editor with syntax highlighting and real-time token counting.

Essential Fields
  • Title: Clear, descriptive name
  • Description: What your prompt does
  • Category: Choose the most relevant category
  • AI Model: Compatible models (GPT-4, Claude, etc.)
  • Tags: Help others discover your prompt
Advanced Options
  • Private Mode: Keep prompts personal
  • Versioning: Track changes over time
  • Fork Protection: Control who can fork
  • Token Count: Monitor prompt length

Exploring Prompts

Search & Filter

  • Search Bar: Find prompts by title or content
  • Categories: Browse by type (Productivity, Creative, etc.)
  • AI Models: Filter by compatible models
  • Tags: Discover related content
  • Sort Options: Recently created, most liked, most commented

Prompt Features

  • Preview: See prompt content before diving in
  • Metrics: View count, likes, and forks
  • Related Prompts: AI-powered recommendations
  • Version History: Track prompt evolution
  • Comments: Community feedback and discussions

Collections

Organize your favorite prompts into collections. Create both public collections to share with the community and private ones for personal use.

Creating Collections

  1. Go to your Dashboard
  2. Click "Collections" tab
  3. Click "Create New Collection"
  4. Add title, description, and privacy setting
  5. Start adding prompts to your collection

Managing Collections

  • Add prompts using the bookmark icon
  • Remove prompts from collection pages
  • Make collections public or private
  • Share collection URLs with others
  • Browse other users' public collections

Social Features

Likes & Following
  • Like prompts to show appreciation
  • Follow creators for updates
  • View your liked prompts in your profile
  • Get notified about new content
Notifications
  • Get notified when someone likes your prompts
